Top 10 Princess Leia Cosplay Costumes (Links to Original Artists Included!)

Carrie Fisher (the legendary actress who played Princess Leia back in the old day) is remembered by many for her rather sexy outfit, refereed to as the "metal bikini". As such you can expect many of the cosplay on this list to be just that, but we will try to include as much variety as possible! However, it is important to note that Carrie Fisher never disliked the fact that she practically became a "cult sex symbol". Another thing that Princess Leia's appearance is also associated with is the the "cinnamon bun" hairstyle so expect to see some of that as well!  Let's start with the classic Princess Leia look (no, no the bikini one). Cosplay artist and DeviantArt remember Virchan really did a great job creating this cosplay. Everything is so well done: the costume, the hairstyle, the makeup and the the stormtroopers are even there to portray this iconic scene.

Princess Leia Metal Bikini + Jabba the Hutt

Alright here it is, a cosplay of the famous "metal bikini" that Carrie Fisher (Princess Leia) wore in the 1983 for the movie Star Wars Episode VI: Return of the Jedi. The outfit is also known as Leia's "slave outfit". We really liked Meg Truney's cosplay (seen bellow) because it even features Jabba the Hutt!

Hipster Princess Leia

So, when Disney bought Lucasfilm and the exclusive rights to the Star Wars license there were a lot of negativereaction. DeviantArt user Sheikahchica, however, decided to make a very funny cosplay with "Hipster Leia" who was a "Princess before Disney bought Star Wars". This is of course a reference to the fact that Disney is famous for having its cartoons feature princesses (with the latest addition being Anna and Elsa from Frozen).

Han Solo and Princess Leia - Finally United!

This shot captures a lot more emotion than any other cosplay I've seen in a long while. Here we see a young couple posing as Princess Leia and Han Solo in a very romantic kiss scene. You can really tell that the two are truly in love by the way that scene just showcases so much emotion. Truly beautiful! Check out the original here and give them a lot of likes! I must admit that these ladies are looking extremely sexy, but I'll also point out that their costume is pretty good. However, I will say that the first bikini outfit from Meg Truney that was posted had a lot more detail.
