Star Wars 7 Comic-Con Appearance Cancelled; You Can Still Catch a Bit of "Rebels"

If you were hoping to see some previews of Star Wars 7 at Comic-Con this year then these dreams have just sunk into deep, icy-cold water. There will be no trailers or crew members (on official duty at least) at this year's Comic-Con and, to be honest, this was to be expected. Considering that J.J. Abrams and the crew are knee-deep in the production phase in Pinewood Studios in London, it was a very unlikely though to expect them in San Diego this month. So, what Star Wars-related goodies can you expect at Comic-Con this year?

Early look at Star Wars Rebels, the animated series
The animated Star Wars series "Rebels" will start this September, and fans will get a unique chance to see more of it at Comic-Con. They will be presenting the new show at Disney XD's panel/booth on Thursday, July 24 from 6-7 PM (room 6BCF). You can expect to have a meet-and-greet with a lot of talented people who took part in this project, including the excursive producers Dave Filoni and Simon Kinberg. Along with them the panel will be attended by actors Freddie Prinze Jr. (Kanan), Taylor Gray (Ezra), Tiya Sircar (Sabine), Steve Blum (Zeb) and Venessa Marshall (Hera). The PR team promised that fans that cam to see Star Wars Rebels at Comic-Con will have a chance to see exclusive content. This is a common practice and we expect that Disney will honor this promise.

- So, no Star Wars 7 news? No, not in the slightest as this is a second no-show for the movie since Disney's D23 last August. Back then we were hoping to hear a bit of news about the new trilogy, but Star Wars was never mentioned. Of course, it is hard to be bitter and hateful towards Disney because they probably don't have any content to show just yet.

However, a lot of people are still holding out and waiting for the first Star Wars Episode VII teaser trailer - and I am certainly one of them! On the bright side, Disney might tell us a bit more about their other Star Wars spin-offs during this event. Either way you look at it we can all agree that the hype is certainly piling up over the past few weeks!
