Star Wars 7 Characters and Story

News about the new Star Wars movie have been in a standstill for some time now, but recent rumors have given us a lot of detail regarding the Star Wars 7 characters and potential actors. Of course this still remains in the domain of "it is just a rumor", but many trustworthy sites have given the news their seal of approval and marked it as potentially true. Even IGN posted about this and they added that casting directors April Webster, Alyssa Weisberg and Nina Gold will be responsible for bringing in some new blood into the series. J.J. Abrams hasn't really made any statements yet and this is explained by the fact that he is busy with the new Star Trek film.

Who will be the stars of Star Wars 7? Give us your opinion in the comments!
So how does this list of actors look like? Well, these isn't really a list of actors, but rather, a list of attributes that each role requires. Agents will have to find suitable candidates based on these requirements which usually include sex, age and physical appearance. So, without further to do here are the Star Wars 7 character templates:
  • Late-teen female, independent, good sense of humour, fit.
  • Young twenty-something male, witty and smart, fit but not traditionally good looking.
  • A late twentysomething male, fit, handsome and confident.
  • Seventy-something male, with strong opinions and tough demeanour. Also doesn’t need to be particularly fit.
  • A second young female, also late teens, tough, smart and fit.
  • Forty something male, fit, military type.
  • Thirtysomething male, intellectual. Apparently doesn’t need to be fit.
As you can seem there are 7 unique character models, each with their own requirements. Most of these require someone who is young or in their late teens which is an interesting choice as Star Wars was usually more mature when it comes to its characters. However, with Disney taking over, we can expect Star Wars 7 to go after the Hunger Games formula: pretty teen girl, funny/good-looking male characters and some old guys as the bad people.

Will this be something that Star Wars 7 will be aiming at? It is very likely that the new movie will try to approach a younger audience, but I personally doubt that it will go so far. Either way, these things are still so early in their development process that is is difficult to say anything about the new movie without it being just a speculation. John Williams Will Compose the Star Wars 7 Score [Official News]

John Williams Will Compose the Star Wars 7 Score  While we know little about the actual cast that will be playing in the new Star Wars movie, a has been circulating recently around the Internet that John Williams will compose the music for the new movie. This is would be rather good news since he has done a brilliant job on the past six movies. Even if you hated the prequels, especially the Phantom Menace, you still have to admit that the music was great - especially the Dual of the Fates! We already reported the rumor that John Williams will compose the score just like he has done in the past, but this news was not officially confirmed by anyone even though many sources quoted him directly. However, things have changed recently and this is our latest scoop of Star Wars 7 news that we would like to share with you today.

So, what fresh Star Wars Episode 7 news do we have on the table today? Well, I can say with a smile on my face that John Williams has given us a lot of information to report on. First of all, let us say that John recently had a chat with director J.J. Abrams and that the two discussed Star Wars. To this John says that he responded that he is both happy and willing to work on the new movie. The 85-year-old composer seems to feel rather young, as most original Star Wars generations do, when faced with the possibility of working on another movie.

Star Trek Costume Designer Joins Star Wars 7!

So, the crossover has started and J.J. Abrams is slowly bringing in "his people" from Star Trek into the new Star Wars 7 movie. Get your lighsabers ready 'cause this is some fresh Star Wars 7 news! The first of what is likely to be many is Michael Kaplan, the costume designer who has worked both on the movies Star Trek (2009) and Star Trek: Into the Darkness (2013), but these are of course not his only credits. You may have seen his distinctive design in movies such as Blade Runner, Fight Club or MI: Ghost Protocol. There are of course more credits to his name, but not as popular as the ones mentioned above. So, this does prove that Michael Kaplan is an established and experienced designer, but what will his role in the new movie be? And more importantly - how will he contribute to Star Wars 7?

Star Trek Costume Designer Joins Star Wars 7!
Michael Kaplan has a much harder job that one might be willing to admit. Costume design seems like something that isn't all that important, but I can assure you that it is! Kaplan's job will be a lot harder than his role in Star Trek I can tell you that! Why? Well, in Star Trek he had the ability to adopt most of the old style and the sequel movie shouldn't have been much trouble since he was praised for his work in the first one.

However, with Star Wars 7 he does have a much harder role to play. On one hand, a lot is being expected of him, especially to preserve the old design. On the other hand, he has a lot of innovating to do. As The Jedi Guardian has noted, the new movie will be about change and by this we don't refer to the change of ownership, but rather all the changes that are happening in the galaxy now that the Empire is defeated. This doesn't just mean that the rebels will need new uniforms and I am sure you are well aware that this job doesn't look all that great so far.
